Three-year-old girl r@ped and m8rdered in Jigawa

A three-year-old girl has been found r@ped and m8rdered by yet-to-be-identified persons in Sabon Gari, Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday, October 16, 2025. 

According to the statement, the victim, identified as Harira Yakubu Bala, was declared missing by her parents on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, and her lifeless body was discovered in a nearby bush the following day with multiple injuries.

Upon receiving the distressing report, NSCDC personnel swiftly mobilized to the scene, secured the area, and evacuated the body to the hospital for medical examination and investigation. 

He explained that following the medical examination, it was confirmed that the deceased child had been r@ped, molested, and murdered by yet-to-be-identified persons. 

The State Commandant, CC Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa has directed the Intelligence and Investigation Department to work closely with the Kiyawa Divisional Office and other security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous act were arrested and brought to justice. 

The spokesperson said the remains of the deceased have been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Command condemned the act and reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, particularly the safety of children and other vulnerable members of the society. 

The NSCDC urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious movement or persons to the nearest security formation.
